Break This Game (Escape Room)

A virtual narrative escape room you can host or play with your friends, inspired by Escape This Podcast.

The setting: you've been tasked to beta test a prototype VR game. Your contract says you need to beat the game to leave, but as buggy and unbalanced as it is, will that even be possible? Discover Easter eggs and exploits to progress in this escape room style experience as you uncover that not everything might be as it seems.

Typical time to complete: about two and a half hours.

Players: 1 game master (running the game like a tabletop RPG) plus 1 or more puzzle-solving players trying to escape (playing as a single character narratively).

Format: PDF of game master notes, including how to play, a prologue, an epilogue, embedded images, full set of object/action descriptions, and puzzle hints/solutions. Plus Zip file of just the images to show players.
